Reflection
After another uneventful day, and once the sun had set again, Ansuz flew into the forest, restless and ready for excitement. Ansuz looked high and low for Vashtoooo and the other night owls. They must have been hunting in another part of the forest, because they were nowhere to be found.
Ansuz practiced the racecourse several times and was sure, by the fifth time, that Vashtoooo could not win again.
The young forest faerie searched high and low, hoping for the night owls and other forest faeries to appear, but they never did.
Again, Ansuz retreated to the hollow pine tree at the end of the night.
For several more days, Ansuz left the pine tree after sunset, and returned before each sunrise. Not once did Ansuz see any other forest faeries. |
