Opening
Every night, when the last child on Earth falls asleep, some of the stars in the sky shoot down to the ground. There, they become forest faeries. They dart among the trees, rollick in secluded meadows, and explore with their friends—the adventuresome night owls. And every morning, just as the first child on Earth awakens, the forest faeries shoot back up into the sky to become stars again.
Well...almost every night. There was one night...not so long ago, when things did not go quite that way.
That night was a very special night, indeed.
You see...stars live for a very, very long time. And new stars are born...oh, every few thousand years or so. And when a young star reaches a few hundred years of age...it is time to play.
On this night, a new star named Ansuz would play as a forest faerie for the first time.
As is traditional, Ansuz's family escorted Ansuz down to Earth. In a blaze of light they showered the evening sky. |
