About Ansuz Starlight
Ansuz Alone

It all happened so fast!

One moment, Ansuz was playing hide and seek with his siblings. The next moment, the only sound that broke the silence was a chorus of birds warbling and cooing overhead. Soon it would be daytime.

Ansuz backed further into the hole in the pine tree. It would be a long wait for nighttime. A very long wait, indeed.

As Ansuz knew, forest faeries must not be seen in the daytime, not even by animals. They must remain out of sight until twilight.

So Ansuz hovered in the hollow of the pine tree all day long. There was very little to do. Ansuz could not even hover near the opening to watch the birds and animals playing in the woods. Their eyes might be attracted to the starlight glow.

Although forest faeries never sleep, Ansuz hovered quietly and still...waiting anxiously for the sun to set.

Of course, eventually, it did—and darkness fell.
